HR Focus magazine, Ghana’s first and only Human Resource magazine and organizers of the HR Focus Conference and Awards has hosted yet another insightful educational programme; The HR Focus Inter-Schools’ Business Challenge. The Business Challenge, with the aim to unearth the entrepreneurial potential of students, comes ahead of this year’s HR Focus Conference and Awards 2017, which is slated for the 12th and 13th of October 2017.
This was the preliminaries, which will see two winning schools moving on to compete with the defending champions; UPSA, during the HR Focus Career Development Session on the 12th of October, 2017 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Competing schools: Accra Institute of Technology (AIT), Radford University College, Wisconsin University College, University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) Pentecost University College and Presbyterian University College; represented by 5 students each, were tasked with different cases for them to provide answers to. The judging criteria included teamwork, creativity, presentation, feasibility and acceptability.
Mr. Collins Badu- Agyemang, a lecturer/faculty research officer at UPSA addressed the students present on Building Healthy Relationships: Not working and Networking. He mentioned that, “Networking by means of attending conferences, among others gives jobseekers a competitive edge over others. You can establish firm network foundations by following up on call cards you collect at such events.”
HR Focus Conference and Awards will take place with an interesting mix of activities for HR practitioners, students, job seekers, amongst others.
The HR Focus Business Challenge has set in motion the drive to make tertiary students proactive and business-driven.
