HR Focus magazine paid a courtesy call on Pentecost University to interact with the winners of the HR Focus Interschool’s Business challenge and to present their cash prize. The five students, Edward Harvor, Ophelia Amedzor, Tony Bright, Frederick Ekuban, and Samuel Berko, were presented with a cash prize of Ghc1,500 on Tuesday the 30th of October 2017.
The HR Focus Business Challenge is an interschool competition organized yearly between no less than three schools that aims to increase the entrepreneurial and strategic thinking prowess of students. This year, the competition was held in two stages. The preliminary stage which took place in September saw Wisconsin University, University of Ghana, Business School, and Pentecost University moving on to the finals to compete against the reigning champions seeing the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) for the title.
The presentation was made to the participants on their campus at Sowutuom, by the Editor-in-Chief of the HR Focus Magazine, Ms. Revina Acheampong.
Also present were the rector, the head of library and other lecturers of Pentecost university College. Upon presenting the award, Ms. Revina encouraged students to identify problems that need solutions in the country and strive to come up with befitting solutions. She explained that the competition was to nurture entrepreneurial drive in them as students.
In addition to the cash prize that was presented, the award winners each had internship opportunities, a package from MTN including a tablet, Smartphone, mifi device, Bluetooth headset, power bank, among other souvenirs.
